
Ian Dowsett is an alumnus of the George Brown Chef School. He graduated from the Chef Apprenticeship program and is committed to on-going professional development; having completed a certificate in retail meat cutting, as well as courses in food styling and writing.
Prior to joining the Compliments Culinary Centre, Ian was Corporate Product Development Chef for a growing food brokerage firm. He is also a sought-after culinary instructor who consistently rates as ‘excellent’ with students.
Chef Ian’s extensive work experiences include: Personal Chef to the Basilian Fathers of Metropolitan Toronto, Executive Chef at Ontario Hydro (Pickering, ON operation) and Executive Sous Chef at the Albany Club in Toronto.
As part of his tireless quest to create new and exciting culinary fare that according to him “should satisfy both the palate and soul”, Chef Ian has appeared in the media on numerous occasions.
Chef Ian works closely with Sobeys Inc. in product and recipe development for the Compliments line of products. He also provides advice to consumers and develops recipes for Sobeys' Inspired by Compliments magazine.
