Ok, I know that this sounds cliché but where has the summer gone! Weather-wise here in my part of Ontario, summer just started last week! Although I have to say that I am not complaining about the weather, I have a green lawn in August!

The other day, my girls went out back to school shopping (their favourite summer activity) without my wife or I. How things change when your children grow up and get a drivers license and credit card!

My youngest is starting grade 11 and my wife will be making the traditional cinnamon buns for her first day of school. My oldest is off to her second year of university, but has switched schools, so back to school will be different for her. I think that these Granola Buttons will suit the first day at her new school; they will travel well and last longer in her dorm room, they are the perfect combination of sweet & chewy, they're fruit filled and nut free too.
